Something from the past, designed for the now. That would be the best discription of the series made by Dick van Hoff, Work. In 2007 he made a collection bureau-accesories for Royal Tichelaar in Makkum. This traditional company wanted to turn over a new leaf, because it could no longer focus on painted tiles and vases. They gave the titel Fundamentals of Makkum to this initiative. They asked van Hoff how to widen the applicationarea of ceramics. He added oak to the material and shifted the focus to bureaus.

The series of Work exists out of 5 products: 2 lamps, 1 clock, 1 vase and a pen tray. In a later project for Tichelaar he designed a tileheater.
