Lota sofa

by Eileen Gray
Label: ClassiCon

Year: 1924

The Lota Sofa was designed by Eileen Gray for the apartment of Madame Mathieu-Levy at the Rue de Lota in Paris. The armrests of the sofa are made of cases on wheels in high-gloss piano lacquer. The Lota Sofa is pivotal as it is widely seen as the turning point of Eileen Gray’s design career. Eileen Gray is known especially for her tubular furniture, carpets and ‘occasional’ tables.
