Jieldé lamp
by Jean-Louis DomecqLabel: Jieldé
Year: 1950
The Jielde-lamp is a product that arose out of frustration. Jean-Louis Domecq couldn't find a good, beautiful and solide lamp, to light his work, at his workshop. Therefore he decided, in 1950, to design something himself. He designed a lamp with a special hinge structure combined with a marketingstrategy. The name of the design is aggregation of his initials, Ji-el-De.
There are many lovers of this lamp, who caressingly caled it 'Standard.' Domecq adjusted his lamp to the wishes of his consumers and made it somewhat commercially, by adding multiple coulors of lacquer and made a small changes to the original shape of teh design. This series is called the Loft-collection.
In the meanwhile the Jielde-assortment exists out of a whole series of industrial, solide lamps. A long time had past since they were precluded for some other place then the workshop, because many designinteriors include a number of Jielde-lamps. Many still favour the original design and why not? The lamps are virtually indestructable.
