Paper Chandelier

Paper isn't the first material which comes to mind when you're designing a chandelier. Still Studio Job chose this material. The Paper Chandelier is part of the collection that the designduo created for Moooi. Beside the chandelier the collection offers a wardrobe, a buffet, a folding screen, a twilight lamp, a mirror, a table lamp, a dinning table, a side table and a dresser, all made out of paper mache and in many caces a wooden frame, abviously for the firmness of the furniture. Everything is made in white.

Studio Job chose to use traditional shapes for the furniture of the paper collection. Therefore the chandelier has a recognizable shape. The furniture has an applied coating of protecting blank lacque. They seem fragil and innocent because there made of paper but they truly are usable pieces. The designers were inspired by there childhood, in which they loved to play with paper mache.
