ST46 Floor Lamp

The first copy of the ST46 was made for the, in that time, new designdepartment of the Bijenkorf branch in Rotterdam. He designed the section together Wim Crauwel. The lamp is made out of fiberglass with a metal construction. Inside the lamp fits a tl-tube.
Kho Llang le was known for his functional designs with an special atmosphere. His most known work was the decoration of Schiphol. Further more he stood at the beginning of the officeyard. The originally inhabitant from the island Java, worked a long time in Holland with the trust Goed Wonen. This trust was in a fight against kitsch. Lamps as ST46 were the opposites of the curly designs made before the fifties. Kho Lang le also introduced, in those days, the Chinese ricelamps in Holland. The ST46 spreads one and the same sort of temperate light, which is because the light travels through a semi-transparant fleece.
The light is made in long and short versions.
