by Carlo MollinoYear: 1949
The frame of the Trestle Structure Table makes u think of architecture and technique. The structure was also used for bridges. Maybe the Italian desiner was inspired by his father, who was an engineer. The perspirant table leaf offers a perfect view of the whole construction.
Mollino was a fan of car racing, flying and making erotic pictures and other 'macho' behavior. He especially designed the table for a luxury appartment in Turin. Christies auctioned of the table of the astronomical price of 4,5 million dollars.
